China Building Materials Federation was awarded the title of "National Advanced Social Organization" by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. CBMF currently has more than 1,500 members, composed of various enterprises and institutions engaged in building materials manufacturing, research and development, circulation, education, planning, standards, testing, certification , exhibition, trade, media, construction, and other fields. CBMF also supervises 9 national building materials institutions, leads 23 national building materials industry associations and comprehensive associations/societies, and connects with 26 provincial and municipal building materials industry associations.

Under the leadership of the Party Committee of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), CBMF takes "serve members, serve industry, serve government, and serve society" as its mission and builds bonds between the government, industry and enterprises. With the goal of "superior products and advanced industry, for the benefit of mankind", we assists the industry and enterprises to achieve ecologization, digitalization, intellectualization, internationalization and modernization, and realize green, low carbon, safe and high-quality development.

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the administration agency of China's building materials industry has undergone several reforms and changes, from the Ministry of Building Materials Industry, to the State Administration Bureau of Building Materials, and in 2001 China Building Materials Federation (CBMF) was reformed and reorganized after the disbandment of the State Administration Bureau of Building Materials. Since then, CBMF has become the only national comprehensive organization in China's building materials industry.
